About the Artist
Born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1964 and raised between Nigeria and Montreal, Mireille settled in Hudson, Quebec in 2000.
Her artistic journey began as a cherished hobby and blossomed into a profound passion following her retirement from the corporate world in 2020.
A dedicated self-taught artist, Mireille first experimented with oil painting in 1995. Over the years, she has meticulously honed her craft through extensive online tutorials and studies with local artists, perfecting a variety of techniques.
Painting is her personal sanctuary, a way to fully immerse herself in the present moment and find her creative “flow.”
Through each canvas, Mireille continuously grows, embracing new challenges and deepening her appreciation for the expressive power of her art.
Artist Statement
As a self-taught artist, my work blends realism with contemporary flair, driven by an obsession with intricate detail.
I find inspiration in secluded natural retreats—fields, forests, and skies—where I capture the serene interplay of light and color. By incorporating a solitary bench into these landscapes, I introduce a signature element of mystery and romanticism, inviting viewers into a tranquil, shared experience.
Whether painting expansive horizons or the delicate, vivid complexities of roses and poppies, my goal is to translate the profound peace of the natural world into a lasting emotional state on canvas.

Testimonials:
“We asked Mireille to create a serene seaside landscape reminiscent of the peace and well-being that we experience living here on the shores of Lake Huron.“The Place that Calls Me” is simply perfect! Mireille has put to canvas the colours, the content, and the feelings that speak of home and of serenity. We are delighted to display her work as a prominent focal point in our living space” – Cathy A. and Karen W., Ontario, July 2025
“I have been looking at the painting (Serenity) several times daily and I love the feeling of the leaves and the idea of sitting under the tree in solitude. Thank you for painting it for me…I will cherish it for many years to come”. – Karen MacKenzie, Montreal, November 2024
“I am now the very proud owner of your painting – The whispers of phragmites – which I was extremely lucky enough to come across Saturday morning at the Lakeshore artists exhibit at Stewart Hall, shortly after it opened. The moment my daughter and I laid eyes upon the painting, we couldn’t look away. It is such a beautiful and compelling painting. The subject is simple, but the colours, details, and blending techniques used create an image that is absolutely stunning. It went straight to the heart of me and I knew I could not leave without the painting. I would like to congratulate you for this piece and on your enormous talent. I look forward to seeing more of your work in future exhibits!” – Denise Perron, Montreal, October 2023
